I have lived in Timberon New Mexico since 1996. I have been Fire Chief of the Timberon Volunteer Fire Dept. I owned and operated a tree thinning company and have worked on Government contracted fire engines. I have worked with local groups on Firewise programs and now I work with the Lincoln and Otero county commissioners to help private landowners on thinning projects and the Firewise program. In my capacity as the Rural Community Forester, I chair the Otero WUI Working Group where I facilitate meetings that all agencies and organizations come together to collaborate on thinning projects across the landscape.
