Fire and Water: A Webinar with Bachechi Open Space
A Workshop on Protecting Forested Watersheds that Sustain Bosque Communities Downstream
Check Out this upcoming free webinar tomorrow, Saturday, October 9th at 9am on Zoom. Registration details below!
Water is life. Nowhere is this more true than in New Mexico. As the size and severity of wildfire increase, the water sources that feed the Rio Grande and other critical water sources are at risk of degradation from post-fire flooding. Investing in forested lands upstream is essential to securing clean water for communities within these watersheds as well as the communities downstream. This webinar, with the Forest Stewards Guild, will describe the connections between forested lands upstream and downstream communities and share some of the innovative approaches to protecting these resources, including the Rio Grande Water Fund which is administered by the New Mexico Nature Conservancy and a network of partners.
